I am concerned about maintaining and enhancing the quality of life that we have all come to enjoy living here.
Career
Currently, I am the President and Chief Executive Officer of Miami Jewish Health Systems (Douglas Gardens), a seventy-five year old non-profit providing care to the elderly population, where we operate the largest nursing home in the southeast United States and many other services addressing the needs of seniors including residential living, post-acute skilled nursing, home care oversight and state of the art memory care and research. I am also the non-executive Chairman of IKS Health, a Mumbai based service provider to the healthcare industry and serve on the boards of Radius Ventures, Florida Health Care Association and The University of Miami’s Graduate Program in Health Sector Management.
I held senior positions within retail supermarket chains, culminating in my role as President, CEO and CFO of Grand Union Company, a $2.3 billion public corporation. Following this, I served in Senior Executive capacities for OfficeMax, Beverly Enterprises and Intelsat, the largest operator of commercial satellites in the world.
Education
A Miamian from an early age, I earned my BA in Accounting from the University of South Florida in 1976, an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business in 1980 and a JD from New York Law School in 1984. I am a licensed CPA and a member of the New Jersey Bar.
I believe with my background and experience, I can provide the leadership needed to guide the future of this glorious seaside village we call home.
Family
My wife Hollis and I are the parents of two adult children. We are actively involved at the Perez Art Museum and Adrienne Arsht Center. Hollis is President of Citizens Interested in Arts, an all-volunteer non-profit that provides grants to qualified members of the South Florida artistic community.
